The shirt dress was a big trend this summer and it’s carrying over this season but trading in the white and blue menswear inspired look for darker hues and stripes. The shirt dress is the ultimate tomboy chic, ‘I’m too cool for pants’ look. It also happens to be extremely versatile and is simply a must-have staple for your wardrobe. Casual enough to wear with sneakers and a denim jacket around your waist but easily transformed with a skinny belt and pumps for a night out. I fully plan on pairing mine with a moto jacket and booties. Here are a few other options I love.
I shot this at Union Station, again. It is seriously one of my favorite places to go in Denver for drinks, food or blog shoots. After almost 6 months of living in Denver I am finally starting to feel like I’ve found the places I like to hang out and that are my vibe. It has also taken me this long to start feeling like I have started to find “my people”. I have really had to step out of my comfort zone and reach out to people, some that I hardly know, some that I haven’t hung out with in years and even some that I have only met via social media and my blog. One of the first weeks I got here I had a meeting with a representative from a social site and we discussed how it can be difficult to transition into a group of friends who have been friends for years, a problem I seem to be running into over and over again. They have so many memories and experiences that they have shared and it can leave you feeling like an outsider. This person I met with said something that keeps playing over again in my head and has helped me a lot. That is that it just takes saying yes (even when you don’t want to) to lunches, dinners, happy hours, trips, whatever you’re invited to. Maybe it will be a bust but maybe it will be an unexpectedly epic time and then you become part of their memories. I’d love to hear from you guys, if you have any stories or tips on meeting new friends in a new city let me know 🙂
Always,
Amber
